So, by this logic then, digital marketing is just the process of connecting businesses with customers using digital channels.

Yup. It really is that simple.

And then there are those that think digital marketing is just metrics, data, and analytics. Essentially combing through numbers and statistics in order to create effective and profitable marketing campaigns.

And here’s the deal. All of those people are right, but they’re also all a little bit wrong.

Because, digital marketing is actually a whole lot bigger than any ONE of those things, and involves a number of different sub categories. Each one is important, but not all are required.
