Should you take Seth Hymes course on digital marketing? Is it really worth it?

Why?
Well I can only speak for myself. This will be one of my first videos on this channel. I dedicate making digitalmarketinghumans.com to help people all over the world to get into the world of digital marketing and to equip them with a skill rather than a degree.

Here’s my brief story.

I was a student who majored in Mass Communication. After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, I went out to the job market to look for a job. I was excited and really proud of myself. Fast forward to about one year later. I never found anything. I had applied to over 70 something jobs, even jobs that were somewhat relevant to communications although I could not find anything. I had thought, there is no way that my degree isn’t finding me something. I mean, c’mon! I have a college degree and I was ready to take on any job.

It appears that the job market is only looking for skills rather than the piece of paper called a degree. I was sold the lie. I couldn’t find a job so I went back to serving tables at a local restaurant I was doing while I was at college. If you ever get to know me, you would know I am an optimist. I held my head up high and knew something good was on its way. Before I knew it, I found a Youtube Channel talking about programming. I was ready to dive into any skills to get myself a high paying job. After much research, I found out that programming would take a lot of time and it was just not my thing. I was ready to give up and before I knew it, I found a video with John Sonmez, The Simple Programmer (at the time), talking to Matt about Digital Marketing.

I dove into it and before I knew it, I was down a serendipitous rabbit hole that changed my life forever. I am grateful to say that the course that Seth offered changed my life for the better.
I went through the digital marketing course in about 2 months (although could have done it in less than a month) and equipped myself with skill in Paid Per Click (PPC) and went out into the job market and applied to about 10 places. Out of the 10 places, 7 had called me back. I did a phone interview with all 7 and did a face to face interview with about 3. I narrowed it down to the highest paying, and the company that had a reputaable name.

Fast forward about two years later and here I am, getting a promotion that now has me making over $60K a year in Digital Marketing.

I can not thank Seth Hymes enough for what he has done for me. If only I knew earlier about this course. I’ll do the best I can to provide this world value by introducing people to digital marketing. I never learned anything like this in college, not even ‘how to make a website’. Because of this course, I went from making $32K/a year at a dead-end restaurant job to making over $60k/a year in a growing and booming industry like digital marketing.
